The Love of a Mother Never Really Leaves Us

Mother’s Day always brings up a lot of emotions for people.
For some, it’s joy and celebration. For others, it can feel a little heavier.
My mom passed away when I was only eight years old, so Mother’s Day has always felt a little bittersweet for me.
But one thing that’s always comforted me is how often people tell me:“You remind me so much of your mom.”
Sometimes it’s the way I talk. The way I carry myself. The way I care for people.Even certain little habits or expressions I don’t even realize I’m doing.
And every time someone says that, it reminds me that maybe the people we love never truly leave us.
Pieces of them continue living through us every single day.
Science even shows that our mothers remain connected to us through our DNA and cells long after we’re born. But honestly, I think most of us feel that connection without needing science to explain it.
We carry them in our spirit, our strength, our memories, our resilience, and even the way we love others.
As painful as loss can be, I also think there’s something important about remembering that, in life, we are supposed to bury our parents someday. That’s the natural order of life, even though nothing truly prepares us for it.
You’re never fully ready.
So if you were able to spend time with your mother this Mother’s Day, hug her, laugh with her, call her, or simply hear her voice… that’s a blessing.
And if your mother is no longer here physically, I hope you know that love like that doesn’t disappear.
Sometimes they continue loving us through the pieces of themselves they left behind inside of us.
Maybe that’s why certain parts of them still show up in us years later.
And maybe that’s the beautiful part of it all.
Love changes form… but it never really leaves.
