Botox Softens Your Lines. It doesn't Pause Skin Aging.

Hey Doll,

Your forehead looks smoother. Your expression lines have softened. But why does it look worse when Botox fades?

I’m not anti-Botox. I’m all about understanding what each treatment does—and giving your skin a thoughtful plan.

Let’s talk about what happens beyond your injectable appointment.

WHAT BOTOX DOES TO MUSCLE ACTIVITY

Botox temporarily blocks nerve signals to selected facial muscles, reducing their ability to contract. This is often described as temporarily “paralyzing” those muscles. Less contraction means less folding of the skin during certain expressions, helping soften expression lines.

Reduced activity can also lead to muscle thinning, known as atrophy. The extent varies depending on the muscle, dose, and treatment history. It doesn’t mean everyone develops sagging, but it makes periodic reassessment with your injector worthwhile.

MEANWHILE, SKIN AGING CONTINUES

A smoother forehead doesn’t mean the skin’s aging process has stopped.

Collagen and elasticity continue to change over time, affecting firmness and structure. Dehydration can also make fine lines more noticeable. Texture, hydration, and skin laxity still deserve attention—even when your Botox is doing its job.

WHY CAN LINES LOOK DEEPER WHEN BOTOX WEARS OFF

Botox temporarily softens expression lines, but it doesn’t stop ongoing skin aging. As its effects wear off, muscle movement and expression lines return. Over time, changes in collagen and elasticity can also contribute to deeper lines—which is why your broader skin-care plan deserves attention alongside your injections.

WHAT IS MICROCURRENT?

Microcurrent uses low-level electrical current delivered through electrodes placed on the skin, typically with a conductive gel to create currents that stimulate your muscles.

Some facial devices are designed to improve the appearance of facial contour and tone through muscle stimulation. Their settings, technology, and supported benefits differ, so choosing a suitable device and following its instructions matters.

Think of it as a consistent home-care option rather than a one-time treatment. It isn’t a requirement for everyone who receives injections, but can be a good support for it.

If you use Botox and microcurrent, ask your injector when you can begin or resume your device, and follow the device’s guidance.

WHAT IS T33 ULTRA COLD PLASMA?

T33 is a professional cold-plasma treatment offered at Doll Haus. “Plasma” here refers to electrically energized gas—not blood plasma.

Cold plasma contains charged particles and reactive molecules that interact with the skin. Researchers are studying this technology for several skin applications, but results depend on the particular device and treatment protocol.

T33 is marketed for skin rejuvenation and extreme collagen remodeling. Those intended benefits are longer lasting and different from Botox’s reduction of muscle activity.

WHY CONSIDER T33 ALONGSIDE OR IN LIEU OF BOTOX?

If your goals include collagen remodeling, a smoother-looking complexion, improved texture, firmer-looking skin, less noticeable fine lines and wrinkles, and improvement in uneven pigmentation, T33 is an option to discuss during your consultation. It takes a different approach from Botox, which temporarily reduces selected muscle contractions. Some of my clients have reported needing less Botox after T33—encouraging feedback, though individual results vary and reduced Botox use isn’t an established benefit. At Doll Haus, we’ll discuss whether T33 fits your skin concerns, with any changes to your Botox dose or schedule guided by your injector.

YOUR NEXT STEP

You don’t have to know which treatment to choose before reaching out. Start with what you’d like to improve.

Reply “T33” with your skin goals, and I’ll send you treatment details, current pricing, and available appointments.

Love your Botox. Give the rest of your skin some attention, too. 🤍

With love,Honorèe
